Safeguarding Statement
Last updated: 27 February 2026
Safeguarding matters in every organisation that works with children and young people. Classia is software for class administration. This statement explains how the platform supports safer practice and where safeguarding responsibility stays with each provider.
Contents
Why this matters
Providers, parent/guardian users, and participants use Classia for enrolment and class administration. Some participants are children. Safeguarding must be practical, clear, and built into day-to-day decisions.
What Classia does
Classia supports safeguarding-aware practice by:
using controlled public class page publishing, rather than open anonymous posting,
supporting enrolment request and enrolment pathways that include parent/guardian context for under-18 participants,
using role-based access so users only see data needed for their role,
keeping personal data to what is needed for class administration,
retaining platform and security logs that support follow-up, abuse prevention, and investigation of reported issues.
What Classia does not do
Classia does not:
replace a provider's safeguarding policy or procedures,
supervise classes, instructors, or participants,
perform DBS checks,
make statutory safeguarding reports on behalf of providers except where Classia has its own legal duty.
Provider safeguarding responsibilities
Each provider remains responsible for safeguarding in practice.
This includes:
maintaining and applying a suitable safeguarding policy,
making sure parent/guardian consent and communication are handled appropriately,
applying safe recruitment, checks, training, and supervision for staff and volunteers,
handling incidents and statutory reporting obligations in line with applicable law and local safeguarding procedures.
Reporting concerns to Classia
If you think there is a safety concern linked to use of Classia, email support@classia.co.uk.
Please include:
provider name and relevant public class page or account details,
what happened and when,
names or references of people involved, where known and appropriate,
screenshots or supporting information if available.
Classia reviews concerns that relate to platform use and may restrict access to protect users and the service. Providers remain responsible for class-level safeguarding decisions and statutory duties.
We aim to acknowledge platform-related safeguarding reports within 2 business days.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.
