Classes

Create a class

Create a new class by choosing a term, teacher and studio, then set key details like name, level, schedule, capacity and age range before saving in Classia

Overview

Creating a class sets up what is taught, where it runs, and when it happens.

A class must be linked to a term, a teacher, and a studio, so everything stays connected and easy to manage.

Before you start

Make sure you already have:

  • A term
  • A teacher
  • A studio

If any of these are missing, create them first. This keeps the class setup smooth.

Creating a class

To create a class:

  1. From the main navigation, select Classes.
  2. Select New Class.
  3. Enter the class details.
  4. Select Save.

The class will be added to your classes list.

Class details

When creating a class, you will set:

  • Name
  • Description (optional)
  • Level (optional)
  • Term
  • Teacher
  • Studio

Schedule details

You will also set:

  • Day of week
  • Start time and End time
  • Capacity (optional)
  • Age range (optional)

Publishing and public visibility

New classes start as Draft. Draft classes are visible only in the dashboard.

If you want a class to appear on public pages:

  • Set Status to Published
  • Turn on Publicly visible

Public-facing copy

You can add parent-facing copy for public pages:

  • Short description (summary for listings)
  • Public description (full description on enrolment pages)
  • Booking notes (important notes shown during enrolment)

These fields only show when the class is published and publicly visible.

Class type and color

You can also set:

  • Dance class type (for example, Ballet or Jazz)
  • Class color (a solid hex colour for calendars)
