Archive a teacher

Archive a teacher to remove them from active lists while preserving past schedules and class links, with guidance on when and how to reverse it if needed

Overview

Archiving a teacher removes them from the active teachers list without deleting them.

This is useful when a teacher is no longer teaching but you still need to retain historical records.

When to archive a teacher

You might archive a teacher when:

  • They are no longer teaching classes
  • They have left your organisation
  • You want to keep the teachers list focused on current staff

Archiving is reversible.

Archiving a teacher

To archive a teacher:

  1. From the main navigation, select Teachers.
  2. Select the teacher you want to archive.
  3. Select Archive Teacher.
  4. Confirm the action if prompted.

The teacher will be archived immediately.

What happens when a teacher is archived

When a teacher is archived:

  • They no longer appear in the teachers list by default
  • Their assigned classes remain visible for reference
  • Past schedules and records are preserved

No data is deleted.

Viewing archived teachers

To view archived teachers:

  • Go to the Teachers list
  • Select Show Archived

Restoring a teacher

If a teacher returns:

  • Open the archived teacher
  • Restore or unarchive them using the available option

They will reappear in the active teachers list.

Common questions

Will archiving remove classes?
No. Classes and historical data remain unchanged.

Should I archive teachers instead of deleting them?
Yes. Archiving keeps your records intact and avoids breaking past data.
